Getting started
NextJam is a collaborative playlist app, built initially to facilitate karaoke sessions with friends. It can also be used to manage a group playlist for an event or party.
Ideal Setup
To have the best experience, we recommend using one big screen for the NextJam player - something everybody can see well, and at least one smartphone or tablet connected to the session to manage the queue. This way you get a real karaoke-party experience. Add in some microphones and you really turn it into a party.
First Steps
To start using NextJam, you'll need to sign up - this is completely free and takes less than a minute. You have the choice of using Google or signing up with your e-mail and a password (in which case you'll need to confirm your email).
Creating a Session
Start a session so that you and your friends can add songs to the queue.
The Player
The player is where the show happens, where the song actually plays and the reactions are shown. On the right sidebar of the player page you'll find the QR Code that users can point to in order to join the session from their phones.
Joining a Session
Guests can point their phone cameras to the session QR code in order to join. Eech session has a unique code that users can also manually enter in the /join page to join an active session.
Adding Songs to the Queue
You can add songs to the queue both directly from the Player screen as well as from a "connected" phone (from a guest that joined a session). Search for the artist or song in the search box and click on the button to add song to queue.
Reactions
From your phone on "companion" mode, you can send reactions that will be shown in the big screen with the player, in real time.
